VACUBRAZE 33, 42, 43
An undesirable characteristic of aluminum vacuum brazing is incomplete flow to the edge of the lap joint and minuscule fillets. Aluminum Vacubraze eliminates this problem, resulting in completed joints and generous, smooth fillets. The most effective use of Aluminum Vacubraze is as supplementary filler metal selectively applied to alloy starved joints. It should be applied adjacent to the joint, not in the joint. Aluminum Vacubraze is normally used in conjunction with brazing sheet or foil. Joints with brazing sheet facilitate the flow of aluminum Vacubraze into the capillary.
VACUBRAZE 721
Vacubraze 721 is a new powdered silver alloy used for joining hard to wet materials by the fluxless vacuum brazing process.
Vacubraze 721 will join diamonds, ceramic, carbide, sapphire, graphite, alumina, zirconium and beryllium to common substrates such as stainless steel, Kovar, and others, without the need for molybdenum-manganese metallizing or other metallizing procedures.
Omni has combined rapid solidification technologies in powder production and a unique binder system that enhances the filler alloy in vacuum. The binder provides excellent paste adhesion to the parts during fixturing and loading, but vaporizes during the early part of the brazing cycle. At high temperatures, no residue remains that can interfere with wetting and flow of the alloy.
Pastes are available in pails, jars, squeeze bottles, syringes, or custom containers.
