| Aluminum Flux Cored Wire Cored with Non-corrosive Flux
PROCORE® is a flux cored filler metal wire used for joining aluminum and aluminum alloys. PROCORE® is the eutectic aluminum/silicon composition that melts over the narrow temperature range of 1070°F-1080°F (577°C to 582°C). Normal brazing temperature is 1080°F-1120°F (582° to 604°C).
PROCORE® is cored with a non-corrosive flux for aluminum. The flux cored filler metal wire is commonly used for manual torch brazing of aluminum with oxy/acetylene or fuel/air torches. It can be used for joining the wide variety of aluminum alloys that are found in automotive radiators, oil coolers and air conditioning systems. PROCORE® is also used in atmosphere furnace, automatic torch or induction brazing processes. No post braze cleaning operations are required. The flux and its residues are non-hygroscopic and non-corrosive.
PROCORE® is prepackaged lengths of Omnis (US #5781846) aluminum flux cored, with a standard length of 18 inches.
PROCORE® is approved and meets all automotive brazing specifications.
| Instructions for using PROCORE® rod |
| The aluminum material to be repaired must be clean of paint, oil, grease and dirt. If possible, brush the joint area with a stainless steel wire brush to remove heavy oxides and water stains. Heat the joint area with the torch and feed the PROCORE® flux cored wire until the flux and filler metal melts, flows and forms the joint. Allow to cool, no cleaning necessary. |
